They say don't feed the bears.
But in 1983, that's how Blue Plate got its start, serving hefty portions to the Chicago Bears on the playing field. We had a van, three chafing dishes and one customer order scribbled on a matchbook cover. These were humble beginnings, to be sure. But soon we were reaching for the stars—feeding hungry film crews working on location in the Windy City.

That was then. This is Blue Plate now. Today, we operate out of a 13,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility on Chicago's near West Side. We have over 500 employees, including more than 100 chefs. On any given day, we may serve up to 10,000 guests in two dozen different locations.

We're the exclusive foodservice provider for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's Symphony Center. We own and operate Rhapsody, the highly acclaimed fine dining establishment in the Loop, as well as bluprint restaurant & lounge, one of Chicago’s hottest new restaurants, located in the Merchandise Mart’s North Lobby.
